Zhou Enlai in Yan'an

Zhou Enlai was suddenly attacked by bandits in Laoshan mountain when he went to Xi'an from Yan'an. He faced the danger fearlessly, commanded his army steadily and repulsed their attack. This is the blanket he carried at that time, which was cut by the bandits more than ten times. In July 1937, the anti-Japanese war broke out. After the difficult negotiations between the CPC represented by Zhou Enlai and Jiang Jieshi, the second cooperation between the CPC and the KMT was realized on the basis of fighting against Japan together. After going back to Yan'an from Chongqing in July 1943, Zhou Enlai participated in the rectification movement and prepared the 7th national congress of the CPC. He made a great contribution to the leading position of Mao Zedong thought in the whole Party. As soon as he arrived at Yan'an, he immediately threw himself into the great production campaign. He hosted and participated in competitions of spinning cotton into thread among the central organs and armies in Zaoyuan, Yan'an.
