White Marble Statue of Zhou Enlai

A 4.7-meter-high white marble statue of Zhou Enlai is placed in the memorial hall. The white marble was mined from Fangshan of Beijing, which is the same as the white marble used for the statue of Mao Zedong in the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. The statue of Zhou Enlai was designed and created by professors Sun Jiabing and Jiang Hua from Shenyang Luxun Academy of Fine Arts and Dalian University of Technology respectively. With heavy eyebrows, the statue of Zhou Enlai in coat sits on a piece of mountain rock, staring at an open book and frowning. From his eyes and anxious expression, it seems that he is still thinking about China's today and tomorrow, worrying about the great cause of the "four modernizations" he had fought for throughout his life and caring about the wellbeing and happiness of the people and the unity of the country.
