Bronze Statue of Zhou Enlai

The bronze statue of Zhou Enlai is 7.8 meters high, suggesting that Zhou Enlai lived to 78 years. The statue was designed by professor Li Shouren from China Central Academy of Fine Arts and casted in Nanjing Chenguang Machinery Plant. On February 12, 1998, the statue arrived at Huai'an. Four days later, the statue and the Xihua Hall were opened to visitors together after a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The bronze statue stands with arms akimbo. When Zhou Enlai went down among the rank and file and chatted with the people in the 1950s and 1960s, he used to stand with arms akimbo. The posture of the bronze statue makes people feel that Zhou Enlai is still as amiable and approachable as before.
