Front Drawing Room

The front drawing room was the place where Zhou Enlai met with distinguished guests and held major state occasions. It is the main part of the Xihua Hall. The whole building featuring loud colors here is a typical northern building in the late Qing dynasty, which is retired and quiet, simple, elegant and refreshing. The exhibited carpets, curtains, traditional Chinese paintings, sofas, tea tables and panels hanging on walls were all once used by Zhou Enlai.
