Wensi Temple

Wensi Temple. Wensi Temple, formerly called Great Mercy Nunnery, was built in the Tang dynasty. In history, the temple had become the Buddhist center in the northern Jiangsu area for its grand scale, large amount of worshipers, eminent monks and wide-spread religious name. After the founding of new China, it was demolished and rebuilt into a pickle plant. In 2006, with the help of the local government, Master Jiping from Hong Kong, a native of Hexia by origin, rebuilt the ancient temple Wensi Temple.
