Liang Hongyu Temple

Liang Hongyu Temple. Liang Hongyu, a famous heroine in the Southern Song Dynasty, is a native of Beichen District, Hexia, today's Hexia and Xincheng regions. As she was poor in her early years, she made a living by weaving. In the late period of the Northern Song Dynasty, Liang Hongyu moved southwards with her family and was stranded in Jingkou, today's Zhenjiang region, due to the invasion by Jurchen Jin soldiers and the turmoil caused by war in the Jianghuai region. Covering an area of 1 mu, it has a floor area of 400 m2. The horizontal inscribed board above its gate was written by the late female calligrapher Xiao Xian. The temple consists of an entrance hall, east and west wing rooms and a main hall.
